Denise loves to train! In her own words, she says she thrives on the challenge of “Me vs Myself.” Her ability to know the depths of her own personal strength came through family tragedy with the loss of 2 children several years ago to a genetic disease called Mitochondrial DNA Depletion Syndrome.
Her passion for motivating others and helping them realize their own strengths and abilities can be seen through her work as a substitute teacher specializing in physical education and also as a coach for youth volleyball. She holds several certifications including EPIC Certified Movement Coach, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and USAW Certified Olympic Lifting Coach. We are also very proud of her athleticism and she continues to motivate us all! In her second CrossFit Open in 2017, she placed 19th in Virginia in 35-45 Masters.
Denise’s interests also include being active with her two boys, gardening, playing softball, running mud races, knitting, kayaking, and cheering on her husband in cycling races.
